TRAVELOGUE SERIES
FALL, 2008

THE REAL WORLD OF FIJI
September 19
Rick Howard invites us to join him on this journey as we discover the exotic islands of Fiji. This film introduces us to the vibrant people and exotic culture of this country with a violent and colorful history.  Once known as the terrible cannibal islands to sailors the world over, the Fiji islands are now considered to be the friendliest islands in the Pacific. Fiji consists of two large islands and about 300 smaller ones. Tribal customs still control government, lifestyle and behavior in Fiji more than in any other island nation.  Travel with Rick to discover this amazing island nation.

AMERICA’S NATURAL WONDERS
October 10
Bob DeLoss takes travelogue cinema guests on a journey from Hawaii to Maine to explore some of the countries most fascinating sights.  Our journey begins in Hawaii highlighting Hawaii’s volcanoes and unusual oceanic life.  On the mainland, we visit Death Valley with an aerial view of Canyonlands National Park and travel into locations rarely visited by tourists.  We move on to visit the Teton Range of Wyoming and Yellowstone, Nebraska, Tennessee, the beautiful coastline and Rogue River in Oregon and the fall colors in Maine.  We visit the entire California coast and we’ll see rare footage of the Ronald Reagan Library.  For the traveler who would like to see many of the great travel destinations and all of their glory, this is the film to see.

VINES DOWN UNDER:  WINE REGIONS OF AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND
November 14
Sid and Mary Lee Nolan will share their new film and take you on a breathtaking visit to Australia and New Zealand. Your guided tour starts in Sydney and explores the country’s many regions known worldwide for their wines.  Along the way, meet winemakers and authorities on Australian wines, plus a few kangaroos, koalas and marvel at mountain and seashore vistas.  Then it’s on to New Zealand, the beautiful island country where you will savor spectacular scenery and the wines of outstanding vineyards.  The adventure starts in Auckland on the North Island and ends in Christchurch on the South Island.  We visit old-growth forests to see stands of giant tree ferns, the habitat of kiwi birds, historic sites, a geyser basin, Mt. Cook and the fjords of Milford Sound.
